Cookie Policy
Effective date: January 1, 2026 · Last updated: 2026-05-07
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website places on your device — phone, tablet, computer — when you visit the site. The site can read the file on later visits to remember information about you (whether you've accepted a cookie banner, what language you prefer, whether you're signed in to something).
"Cookies" is a shorthand. This Policy also covers similar technologies — localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, pixels, web beacons — that work in similar ways. Where we say "cookies," we mean all of these unless we say otherwise.
2. Categories of cookies (CCPA/CPRA-aligned)
We organize cookies into four categories. The categories match what you see in our Cookie Preferences modal (footer button: "Cookie Preferences").
- Strictly necessary. Required for the site to work. Cannot be turned off via consent. Examples: remembering your cookie consent choice itself, providing security against form-spam.
- Performance / Analytics. Help us understand how the site is used (pages visited, time on site, error rates). Set only after you opt in. We do not run analytics by default.
- Functionality. Remember preferences such as your language choice (EN/ES). Set after you opt in.
- Marketing / Advertising. Used for targeted advertising. Currently unused. No marketing or advertising cookies are placed by us. The category appears in the modal so that, if we ever introduce marketing tags, the consent vocabulary already exists and you have a way to refuse them.
3. Cookie inventory
The complete inventory of first-party storage we use, as of the "Last updated" date:
| Name | Storage type | Category | Purpose | Lifespan | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
pcg_cookie_consent |
localStorage | Strictly necessary | Stores your consent choices (which categories you accepted), the consent version, and the timestamp. Required so we don't ask you again on every page. | Until cleared | PCG (first-party) |
pcg_lang |
Cookie | Functionality | Remembers your language preference (EN/ES) so we can route you back to the same language across visits. Set only when you have opted in to Functionality cookies and used the EN/ES toggle. | 1 year (max-age 31,536,000s) | PCG (first-party) |
| (future) analytics cookies | — | Performance / Analytics | If/when analytics are added, the specific cookies will be listed here, set only after explicit opt-in. None currently in use. | — | — |
4. Third-party services and their cookies
The Site integrates a small number of third-party services. Where these services set their own cookies on your device, those cookies are governed by the third party's privacy policy in addition to ours. Current third-party integrations:
- Google Maps embed (Contact page). An embedded Google Map appears on /contact.html to show our office location. When the map loads, Google may set cookies. Loading the map is not gated by consent today; the map is a basic locator function. Google's cookie practices: policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
- Cloudflare Turnstile (Contact and Career forms). The Turnstile widget on /contact.html and /career.html is used as a privacy-friendly CAPTCHA alternative. Turnstile may use limited browser signals to verify form submissions are not automated. Cloudflare's privacy practices: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
- Google Fonts. The Site loads typefaces (Fraunces, Inter) from Google's font CDN. Google Fonts CSS does not set cookies on your device, but Google does receive your IP address as part of the font request. Google's font privacy: developers.google.com/fonts/faq/privacy.
- Form Worker endpoint. When you submit a contact or career form, the data is sent to a Cloudflare Worker we operate; this is first-party processing and does not place cookies on your device.
We will update this section if we add or remove third-party services. We do not currently load any advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or social-media tracking pixels.
5. Managing your preferences
From the Cookie Preferences button (footer of every page): re-open the consent modal at any time. Toggle Performance, Functionality, and Marketing categories on or off. Click "Save" to apply. Strictly Necessary is always on and cannot be turned off — it powers the consent system itself.
Accept all / Reject all. The banner and modal have equal-weight Accept All, Reject All, and Customize options, with no pre-ticked non-essential categories. Rejecting all means only Strictly Necessary cookies are set; everything else is off.
Browser-level controls. You can also manage cookies in your browser settings — block all cookies, block third-party cookies, delete cookies on close. See your browser's documentation: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat that as a "do not sell or share" preference per CPRA, in addition to the in-modal controls.
"Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information." The footer link of the same name re-opens the cookie modal; rejecting Performance, Functionality, and Marketing constitutes opting out of any sale/sharing for the purposes of this Site. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration in any case.
6. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly set non-essential cookies for users we know to be under 16. CPRA requires affirmative authorization for the sale or sharing of personal information of consumers between 13 and 16; we do not engage in such sale or sharing.
7. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Policy when our cookie practices change — for example, when we add an analytics service or remove a third-party integration. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on this page or via the cookie banner if the change requires re-consent.
